About Who's Starting

Who's Starting is an independent sports-data site. We're not affiliated with any team, league, conference, or broadcaster. We built this because depth charts and starting-lineup news are scattered across dozens of sources and hard to track week to week — so we track them in one place, for college football and the NFL, and publish what changed.

Weekly recaps on this site are credited to Who's Starting Staff. That's a shared byline for the team behind the site, not one person — every recap is written and fact-checked against our own data before it's published. It's not a newsroom in the traditional sense: no wire-service subscription, no beat reporters at games. What you're reading is our own read of our own data.

Depth charts come from a licensed third-party data feed, refreshed automatically every night. We compare each night's chart against the previous one for every team, and log a change whenever a starting spot moves — who came off, who's listed now, and the date we first saw it. Injury designations come from a separate feed, updated on its own schedule, and carry their own “as of” date. When the two disagree — a player promoted to a starting spot on the same day the injury feed lists them as questionable or worse — our weekly recaps say so plainly rather than pick a side.

Everything on the site is a straight readout of what the data says on a given day — never a projection of who WILL start, and never guesswork filled in where the data has a gap.
