Chapman, a five-time Gold Glove third baseman born in Victorville, California, has spoken publicly about living with Tourette syndrome throughout his career. He and his wife Taylor welcomed their daughter, Gia, in September 2024, and Chapman has described fatherhood as opening up 'a different kind of love' — fittingly, he homered twice in his very first game back after her birth. As of mid-2026 the couple was reportedly expecting their second child.
