Webb grew up in Rocklin, California, and was diagnosed with severe astigmatism as a third- or fourth-grader after he couldn't see the ball well enough to play — without correction, he's been described as legally blind. He became the Giants' workhorse ace anyway, leading all of MLB with 207 innings pitched in 2025. He married his high school sweetheart, Sharidan, in 2021, and the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, in October 2024 — continuing a family baseball thread, since his own father once played high school ball alongside a young Barry Bonds.
A childhood vision impairment serious enough to be called legally blind without correction didn't stop him from becoming MLB's innings leader and the Giants' No. 1 starter.
