Data sources

What feeds the NFL Trade Value Calculator, and its limits.

• nflverse: season player stats from github.com/nflverse, licensed CC BY 4.0. We turn it into a value estimate; the original data is not ours.
• ESPN depth charts: who is listed as a starter, used for team and position.
• Jimmy Johnson draft chart: the classic point values for draft slots. Future picks are valued at the middle of each round.

WS Trade Value is a model estimate from production, age and position. It is not a market price, and injured players are not discounted.
